The Board of Directors of KKB Engineering Berhad (“KKB”) wishes to announce that KKB in early 2012 participated in an international tender bid for the Proposed Ferro Alloy Complex, Bintulu (located within Samalaju Industrial Park, Bintulu, Sarawak). KKB is pleased to announce that the employer, Pertama Ferroalloys Sdn Bhd (formerly known as “AML Manganese (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd”) has awarded KKB the contract via their Letter of Acceptance Ref: CPD-L-12-30 dated 30 July 2012 for the Structural Steel and Cladding Work (Zones 1, 2, 3 and 4 - the “Works”) of the Proposed Ferro Alloy Complex. The Accepted Contract Amount is worth approximately one hundred and seventy-one million ringgit (RM171 million). The completion time for the contract shall be staggered within Fifteen (15) Months’ period commencing from Third Quarter 2012 until Fourth Quarter 2013. The award is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets of KKB Group for the financial years ending 31 December 2012 and 31 December 2013. None of the Directors or major shareholders or persons connected with them has any interest, direct or indirect, in the above award. The Board is of the opinion that the above award is in the best interests of KKB and its group of companies. This announcement is dated 31 July 2012. |
